Can you believe we lose a whole precious hour today? Noooooo say it isn't true!!

Seriously!!! My boys walked into the classroom and saw this laying on the table and they instantly wanted it!!! I told them it wasn't ready....it still needed cut and laminated and they did not care!!

They are CVC words done in a road font so the kiddo's 'drive' their little cars over the road and sound out the words. 

You could use it with lower kids and they could name the letter or the letter sound! My boys wanted it NOW!!!!

It comes with 20 road word cards and 20 matching pictures.

You can glue each picture to the back of the word so it is self correcting. The kiddo's just flip their card to see if they read the word correctly. 

AND....she made 4 record sheets to pair with the activity.

Puzzle Freebies Finished!!

Thought For The Day...."Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way."

I made two activities for my students to work on as we need to continue practicing the sight words and sounding out words. Both are "puzzle" activities. When the pieces are cut and glued correctly the CVC word page will be a space shuttle and the sight word matching page will be a turtle.

I found some goodies in the discount aisle when I ran for shampoo so I am about to make a new game for the kiddo's for tomorrow. I already had my Spring Break but my kids are on break the week after Easter. That always happens to us. I don't think I have ever been on break with them.
The two puzzles are available for free in my Teacher's Notebook Store. I have a few other freebies there as well as my common core math and two homework packets.

CVC Freebie and Happy Thursday

Thought of the Day... Refuse To Be Discouraged!

Have you ever had an idea in your head that you thought would be so easy to make but in fact it took forever? That is how I felt about my most recent project. I wanted to create an activity using CVC words but also make it fun and new. I came up with the idea of a puzzle. Match the word to the correct picture and when everything is in place it is a new picture. Sounds simple right? Well I could not get the pieces the correct size. I finally finished it tonight but I have not actually assembled it to be sure. I will make it tomorrow at work to be sure. It turned out like this....

It makes a space shuttle. Well, at least it is supposed to make a space shuttle if i have managed to resize all my square correctly. It seemed so simple in my head, lol. I'm afraid to put the download on in case it isnt correct, I guess I should wait until tomorrow. I will share as soon as I am sure.
Eight days until the wedding cake....we will start baking in 4 days. In case you don't know what I am talking about my daughter and I are making the wedding cake for my niece's wedding next weekend. It is a big one, the biggest we have made. I have complete faith it will taste great, but I need it to LOOK great too. She and I are a good team so I know we can do it. I will take pictures!! Should end up about 30 inches when it's done.
