February Freebies All Around

I have been doing some updates to my blogs and trying to get them 'linked' together. I think I have finally achieved success. You can now visit my clip art blog Oodles of Doodles by clicking on the 'clip art' tab above. Today I am giving away some simple blackline weather clip art.  Try using the link above to grab a copy.

I have posted my February Calendar Numbers on my FB page. Click on the 'Fan Freebie" button to download your free copy. Joy of Kindergarten on Facebook

I have a new Kindergarten Math Journal for February. It is free right now on TPT so grab a copy quick.

There is a color and b/w version of every page.

I made this last year but it really is timeless. I'm posting it again in case you never got it.
This one is on google docs and you can access it with this link:

Free Snowman Calendar Numbers, January Kindergarten Homework & RTI for Behavior

~*HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!*~
WOW, I cannot believe how long it has been since I wrote a post! The last few months have been beyond crazy at our house. Mr. Hubs had a major medical situation which has settled down for the most part now but kept us running to doctors, specialists, and testing procedures for a few months. I was able to work through most of the days  but free time for blogging and creating was lost in the wind. We also grew from a house of 5 to a house of 8  when my daughter moved back home with her two little boys. Busy! Busy! Busy!

A Few Thoughts About RTI for Behavior
I have spent a lot of time researching how to effectively use the RTI process for students with behavioral needs. I think RTI is effective for subject areas such as Language Arts, Writing and Math. However, when it comes to behavioral concerns it becomes more vague. I think the key is to prioritize the behavioral needs. What is the one thing you would like to focus on first? Write a measurable goal for a specific time of day. Targeting the entire day and collecting useful measurable data is next to impossible. Make sure that your goal is measurable. For example, you can't really measure listening but you can measure a student's ability to carry out a verbal directive. I will be posting more about this soon with some examples of measurable goals. I will also post the data sheet I use to collect measurable data.

I Made Something New! Can You Believe it!?!
I did a little drawing yesterday and started a set of February clip art. Here is a little preview of one of the files.

I also actually made a new set of calendar numbers using my snowman clip art. You can practice patterning as well using the frames ABBC pattern. It is free in my TPT store.

This is the clip art set I used to create the calendar numbers. It is currently 30% off in my TPT store.

My monthly January homework packet is also available in my TPT store. It includes 4 weeks of Kindergarten homework.

Calendar Numbers Freebie

Well have you ever gone to set up the monthly calendar and you don't have all of the numbers?

Where do they go?

I usually use the same set for August and September....they were cute little kid faces that I bought a long time ago....but not this year because somehow I lost two of them, lol. I also 'lost' my camera (but actually I am hoping I left it in my classroom). We set up the 3 main bulletin boards and took pictures but now I cant find the camera. We (my daughter and I) were there a long time and we were pretty 'pooped' when we left so hopefully it is there!
I think I will go there tonight or tomorrow to get it so I can share the pics. Everything looks so bright and fun with new backgrounds and borders!!
So back to the calendar numbers....I gave up searching for the numbers and decided to just make new ones. I used the new digital colored crayons that I drew and they turned out great. There is also a page of blank labels (sorry not editable) that you can use.
I put this one up through my FB page.
To grab your free set, click on the Fan Freebie tab. It will take you to the site to download your free set. I will likely make a new set for each month as some of my numbers are REALLY old!!

I'm still not counting down, but if I were it would be 10 days....

Back to School in Pictures, September Freebie & Twitter Linky Party

Well I finally got my camera situation figured out and moved everything from my phone to my computer....yeah me!! My classroom finally came together nicely. I like the overall layout and look for this year. I had added a table, but I may end up taking it out because it sucks up so much floor space. With my current numbers I may be ok with only having 3. Here is a before and after of my classroom.
I also took a few photos of some cute things I saw in my building. One of the new K teachers made a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree in her classroom that is super cute. Guess what holds up the paper leaves? It's an old umbrella...can you say GENUIS!!!
I had to include the picture of the adorable dice chairs, aren't they cute? Now that I have my camera I will be taking lots more pictures. I saw so many cute things I want to share as I walked around my building.

In case you missed my previous post, my September Kindergarten Homework Pack is finished and available  in my TPT store. It includes 4 weekly sets of homework, a reading log to color each week, and a monthly chart to color at home as the kiddo's finish their activities each day. September Kindergarten Homework

I made a simple set of September Calendar Numbers with an 'Apple' theme. Please grab a copy and enjoy!

Do you use Twitter? To be totally honest I feel a bit 'Twitter Illiterate". One of my goals is to really figure it out and use it more frequently to share information and pictures with others. Jennifer from Simply Kinder is having a Twitter linky party on her blog.

Twitter Linky
You can link up with your Twitter Account and join in the fun! You don't have to have your own blog, just a Twitter account. Link up and join in the fun! And then you can teach me how to use it better, lol.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend!!

Back to Class and September Calendar Freebie

I went to school today to get my room back in order from the floor being waxed. I met two of my teacher friends and we all took turns helping each other. It was fun having the whole building to ourselves. We took a peek in different classrooms to see how everyone was doing with their classrooms.
My room was a mess from the floors being waxed. Not much was back into place where I had it. I really wanted to take a picture so you could see the transformation, because it looked 'two thumb's down'... but my phone died...boooo. I guess it was ok that I needed to reorganize again because I ended up throwing away a bunch more.
Are you the teacher that keeps everything or throws everything away? I used to keep EVERYTHING. If I made too many copies, I kept the extras. If a game had missing pieces, still kept it. When I changed buildings last year and saw how much I had accumulated over the years I began throwing things away. My classroom is very organized but my cupboards were packed full. It was like you took one thing out and six things fell out with it. They look so much better now after a year of throwing away or giving away things I will never use. My next step is to put post it labels on every drawer and cupboard and label the main contents so my new aides will know where to find things and where to put them away.
The sad news of the day was for my friend. She changed classrooms to a larger room and they punctured her Smartboard during the move. They hire extra employees during the summer, usually college kids and they tend to not be too careful with the belongings...don't they know those are our treasures?  :)
I made a new calendar set for September to share. It's very simple, just numbers to 31 with an apple theme. You can grab a copy via my google docs. I dont tend to use google docs too often so please let me know if it isn't working.
Here is the link to google docs:  September Calendar Numbers
A while back I made a larger word wall to go with my free classroom set on TpT titled 'All About Yellow". I wanted to share it again since I know everyone is getting ready for back to school.
Here is the link for the Word Wall. Yellow Word Wall
I have my last week of ESY and then a little break before the start of the regular school year. I will end with a little 'Mom of Teenagers' humor...saw this one earlier today...

Have a wonderful week!!
Smiles!
