Calendar Numbers Freebie

Well have you ever gone to set up the monthly calendar and you don't have all of the numbers?

Where do they go?

I usually use the same set for August and September....they were cute little kid faces that I bought a long time ago....but not this year because somehow I lost two of them, lol. I also 'lost' my camera (but actually I am hoping I left it in my classroom). We set up the 3 main bulletin boards and took pictures but now I cant find the camera. We (my daughter and I) were there a long time and we were pretty 'pooped' when we left so hopefully it is there!
I think I will go there tonight or tomorrow to get it so I can share the pics. Everything looks so bright and fun with new backgrounds and borders!!
So back to the calendar numbers....I gave up searching for the numbers and decided to just make new ones. I used the new digital colored crayons that I drew and they turned out great. There is also a page of blank labels (sorry not editable) that you can use.
I put this one up through my FB page.
To grab your free set, click on the Fan Freebie tab. It will take you to the site to download your free set. I will likely make a new set for each month as some of my numbers are REALLY old!!

I'm still not counting down, but if I were it would be 10 days....

Final Four Freebie Colored Pencils

Here are the last of the colored pencils set. If you need any different colors let me know and I will try to add them.

I learned how to make files editable in a quicker way so I was able to make two sets from last summer now have editable labels.

They are both priced at $4.00 for a few days.  When I make my classroom labels, I use the heavy lamination sheets (is that 5ml??) I write on them with a sharpie and place where needed. At the end of the year I clean them using nail polish remover. They will hold up REALLY well. I have some labels that I am using for the 3rd year this year and they still are in excellent shape....they look new.
If you have any goo from tape just use a little Goo Gone and it will come right off.  I use a personal laminator from my mybindings.com. I bought my lamination pages through Amazon. Oh, one more trick I found is to always run everything through the machine twice...I always do this even if they look ok with just one time.
I will not count down my days of summer until it is 10.....or maybe 7.....or 5, LOL!!

Have a wonderful week!!!

Where Have I Been and a Flash Freebie!!

Wow, I just realized I have not written a blog post in over a month. The days just seem to fly by! If you are a fan of my Kindergarten Homework Packets I am SO VERY SORRY I never finished the May packet. Things have been in a bit of chaos at our house with some great highs and a few lows...but we are keeping optimistic thoughts!! School is out for the summer so that is a bit of relief on our daily schedule. I debated about posting before tomorrow but I believe in the power of prayer so I am sharing our news. A little over a month ago we noticed a very small red dot on my grandson's temple. This little tiny dot grew rapidly and my daughter took him to the doctor who referred him to a specialist. Her is the little guy take about 6 weeks ago....
We watched that little dot grow so fast into a fairly good sized bump on his temple. Before she had her appointment with the specialist that little bump broke open bled like crazy to the point we ended up at the ER for about 5 hours while they tried to figure out why it wouldn't stop bleeding....poor little Prince Charming!! The appointment with the specialist got bumped up. We had our visit and surgery was scheduled for the next day. Yikes is all I could think....no one ever gets surgery within a day unless it is something pretty serious!. They couldnt put him to sleep for the surgery because he still has the hole in his heart, but he slept through the procedure with a local. We go tomorrow for the results tomorrow to find out if it is a rare type of  cancer (doctor said 1 in 1,000,000 babies have this). So, can you just say a little prayer that we get good results tomorrow! I will post tomorrow to let you know what happened!! Gosh, what a "Debbie Downer" I am, lol. Here is  a pic of Prince Charming after his surgery...

I've been doing more drawing.....I think it is like a therapy for me. I have LOTS made!! I just need to get them in some sort of category as they are pretty random. I also learned how to make editable labels....YAHOO!! Not quite as difficult as I thought. So I created a cute dotty background and made a word wall with one of my fonts.

I have included the font in the zip file so you can download and install it on your computer and make everything match if you wish. You need a method to 'unzip' the file and PowerPoint to edit the labels. It is currently available in my TPT store.

Have a great week!!

Back to School Blog Hop!! Join in the Fun!!

Did you know that this weekend is a GINORMOUS sale on Teacher's Pay Teachers? It's true!! So to prepare for the big event I am joining in on the Back to School Teacher's Pay Teachers Blog Hop. (Well, I will join in if I can figure out all the 'linky-jinky' business which you know I do not excel in.)

Great teachers are joining together to share some of their favorite back-to-school items, to get you set for the beginning of the school year! And the best news? This weekend is the big SALE!!! You can save from 10-28% on your favorite items!! Can you believe it? Don't forget to enter the promo code BTS12 to receive  the biggest savings.
'To theme or not to theme that is the question'...lol. Themes are everywhere for back to school design and ideas. Teachers choose colors, mascots, animals, dots....you name it. I have created several fun back to school theme sets that are available on TpT. Personally I feel there is something visually appealing to a themed classroom. It creates a sense of organization. I love labeling my cubbies, bins and baskets with the coordinating labels. It really creates a kid-friendly environment.

When I am preparing my sets I laminate each piece using heavy laminate. It create a hard piece that will last for many years. You may want to use cardstock to print on if you do not have heavy lamination available.
My favorite classroom set is the first theme I created. I called it 'Let's Get Hoppin'. I love the color combinations with the green, pink, aqua, and black. It was cute but not too girlie....cuz you all know those little boys do not like 'girlie'. Can't you just hear those little boys in your head saying "That's for girls", lol. I used the pennants and made three pennant banners in my class: 'I Can' where I post I can statements (a requirement at our school), Word Wall, and Group Time.
To make a pennant banner I print one triangle for each letter and glue the letter using very light glue (just enough the tack it on). Laminate each triangle and cut. Punch a hole in the top corner of each triangle. To add a little flare I string my letters onto ribbon and then go back and add a coordinating ribbon tied through each corner.
I know you will love all of the creative ideas and activities you find on the blog hop. Teacher's Pay Teachers is my 'go to' site for classroom activities. I love that the items are 'tried and true' things that children enjoy!
I hope you have a wonderful school year full of many blessings!! Enjoy the blog hop!!
