TPT Kinderland One Day Sale...WooHoo

WooHoo.....you read it right... I am linking up with some Kinderland friends for a one day TPT sale.For one day only, Sunday June 30th, you can grab some great deals and get a head start on getting ready for August. I know, I know...we just got out for the summer. I'm planning on getting everything set up now with my classroom decorations and beginning of the year activities so I don't feel the time crunch in August. Last summer I made some classroom theme sets. These are not activities, they are decorations such as nameplates, tags, labels, table numbers etc with a theme. I currently have Bees, Ocean, Red, and Monsters. The labels in these sets are NOT editable...sorry. Since that time I have created one new item that does have editable labels. It is a colorful dot set which includes a word wall, font, and a variety of labels and tags that you can edit in PowerPoint.

Let's Get Hoppin' uses the colors aqua, green, pink, black and white with a frog theme.

All About Monsters is aqua and green with polka dots and lots of cute monsters.

All About Red is red and white with a ladybug theme throughout.

The Beach/Ocean theme set is a colorful set with an ocean/beach theme throughout. Colors include bright pink, aqua, yellow, orange and green.

The Bee Happy set is a sunny yellow set with lots of bees buzzing through.

I also have a set called Blue and Red Polka Dots, which is all fun polka dots.

Happy Birthday Sale!!

It's my birthday and the beginning of school is rapidly approaching so I am having a quickie sale in my TN store. Teacher's Notebook
I hope to get back into my classroom later next week to take pictures: before and after. I had my room all set up for the most part, but then they had to remove everything to wax the floors.
I am very excited for the beginning of school. I still have two more weeks of ESY but things have been going more smoothly after we got that first week out of the way.
I have been working on my own version of a Pinterest inspired project for the first day of school. I hope to get it finished this weekend.

Well I have another week and then I will begin teaching Extended School Year (ESY). It should be great as I had many of the students a few years ago when they were in preschool. And, thankfully, we are in a building with A/C.
Beginning in August I plan to write a series of blog posts on 'Managing Student Behavior'. As you know, if you read my 'About Me', I am an Intervention Specialist. I have always had cross-categorical classrooms, which basically means, "Anything Goes". It seems though that I typically have the students with extreme behaviors. Why you ask? No, I am not being punished, lol. I LOVE kiddo's with behavior difficulties, does that sound worded wrong? I have some tried and true strategies that have worked for me and I want to share them with you. I hope you will find the information useful.
Has anyone attended any good Professional Development this summer? I attended a two day Math in-service on our new math curriculum and I was so happy to get my hands on those manuals early. I needed them to get my homework packets done before August. I am also attending a three day in-service on Common Core and Language Arts in August.

ESY & Free Yellow Polka Dot Word Wall

I went to orientation for ESY which I will begin teaching in a few weeks. Should be interesting. I know 3 of the 4 aides working in the room with me but I have never worked 'directly' with them...does that make sense??? And yes, that does say 4 aides. I have 4 aides, me, and 9 students. I know aide #1 will be very easy to work with, #2 seems so-so....might be ok and #3...ding, ding.... getting my boxing gloves positive attitude ready. Oh and #4 is the mystery aide. She does not work for our district during the school year and she did not attend orientation.

Hello Hot Weather!!
Can you believe this heat? I have so many projects going I have decided to start a new blog for my Classroom Designs. I dont want this blog to turn into a Sunday newspaper circular but I do like to let people know when I have finished something new. I thought if I was going to make a change I should do it now while teachers are still learning about these sets.
I will keep this blog and use it for my original intention...sharing activities and ideas from my classroom. Of course you may get an occasional craft or recipe,lol. Or how about a picture. Here is how we attempted to stay cool today.
I think tomorrow is supposed to be just as hot, ugh!


So back to my original thought...the newest blog, lol...I am so easily distracted. This is a link that will take you there. Not too much on there now but I will add new classroom sets onto that blog so that I can keep this one more filled with (hopefully) useful ideas.

New Classroom Design Giveaway - Monster Set

I finished the aqua and green classroom set and decided to make it a monster theme. I am giving away one set here on my blog on Sunday. I used the rafflecopter the last few times but then I got to thinking about making you follow me all around cyber-land to have an entry. I had a special request for a 'bee' theme classroom set so that will be next. Then I will do a safari/jungle theme. I am also drafting out a year of homework packets for Kindergarten. Busy, busy, I'm just full of ideas, lol.

We have a brand new math curriculum for next year so I need to make sure the activities align with the lessons being taught. I went to an in-service today and I go back tomorrow. It is all about the new math curriculum.

I also spent 3 days cleaning out my classroom cupboards getting everything organized. My classroom is super organized and tidy but I had secret hidden stashes of clutter...shhh don't tell. Now every cupboard is organized too and my file cabinets are all cleaned out. My recycle bin was brimming! I think I had saved every extra copy of papers since dinosaurs walked the Earth, very outdated and things I will never ever use again! They are gone now! I also changed all my bulletin boards for next year.

Hmmm. how many days of school do I have left? I think it's down to 8. I have had such a great year! I love the teachers I work with and I have had wonderful students this year!! I think I am starting out next year with about double what I have now, but that is fine. I am already getting everything ready for August. I have my new bulletin boards laminated and ready to put up. I WILL tackle my disorganized cupboards this summer! I guess I will have to get another table as I think I don't have enough chairs...yikes.
